Introduction to Casting a Fly Rod (2-Day Workshop)

$80

This two-day workshop is a focused introduction to the art and mechanics of casting a fly rod. Ideal for beginners or anyone who wants a solid foundation before stepping into the full world of fly fishing, this class concentrates on one essential skill—casting—and teaches it in a simple, accessible, and enjoyable way.

Throughout the workshop, you will learn how a fly rod, fly line, and leader work together to create an efficient cast. We break down casting into clear, easy steps that allow you to understand not only what to do, but why each movement matters. You will practice drills designed to improve your loop formation, power application, line control, and overall rhythm. These drills help reinforce proper technique while making learning fun and low-pressure.

Because the class is dedicated entirely to casting, you will have ample time to receive personal feedback, refine your movements, and gain confidence with each session. All instruction happens on the field, giving you space to practice at your own pace in a relaxed, supportive environment. Rods are provided for all participants.

Whether your goal is to prepare for a full fly-fishing class or simply to experience the joy of casting a fly line for the first time, this workshop offers a welcoming and well-structured introduction.
